The collaboration responsible for Ghost Machine’s newest comic series Hyde Street has another clear hit on its hands. A group of industry professionals which include Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, Danny Miki, Rob Leigh, Brand Anderson, and Maytal Zchut, have created a successful series of horror books with great characters. Even though the books are still awaiting their introduction, the buzz is very positive for the comic series.
A recent article from ComicBook.com stated that Hyde Street is going to be a monthly series, with the first issue It Happened on Hyde Street being released on October 2nd; the second, It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour #1, will be released on October 30th, just in time for Halloween. Some characters introduced throughout the series include Mr. X-Ray, Pranky a menacing scout, and Miss Goodbody. The cover of each of the first three books features the mysterious character and focal point of the story.
This recurring theme of highlighting key characters has been highly touted by readers, who become engaged in knowing more about these characters, and drawn in to discover what happens to them next. The monthly format leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next issue.
It Happened on Hyde Street: Devour highlights one of the victims in each story, the expert writing, lettering, coloring, and illustrations are some of the best work in the industry due to the talent that has come together to produce their best collaborative work.
Since the company announced its inception, they have introduced new genres and characters, which have all been widely praised. Some of the first titles introduced included:

All titles are published through Image Comics, a leading publisher that has published both Marvel and DC Comics titles since they started in 1992.
A New Way of Doing Business:
The group behind It Happened on Hyde Street launched their collaborative venture in the fall of 2023. Their goal was to provide all the creative input while regaining creative control. According to their press release, Ghost Machine Comics is the first “creator-owned and operated media company” of its kind. This business model, the group feels, is the natural evolution in the industry and a new business model that protects its’ creators.
With the success of some of the group’s new titles, including It Happened on Hyde Street, it appears that the public is thirsty for more of their horror-inspired stories.
